USGBC-NCC is pleased to announce the formation of the Diablo East Bay
Branch as part of the Chapter. USGBC-NCC Diablo East Bay Branch joins
the Sacramento, Monterey Bay and Silicon Valley Branches of USGBC-NCC,
and is committed to promoting sustainable practices, green innovation
and collaboration with all stake holders including the communities,
designers, builders and public and private leaders.
“The USGBC’s mission is to transform the built environment and improve
the quality of all life,” said Andrea Traber, USGBC-NCC Board
President. “The Diablo East Bay Branch will advance green building
practices in an evolving area.” Dan Geiger, Executive Director of the
Chapter, added “we’re very excited to have a branch in the eastern
portion of the Bay Area to increase awareness, membership and
programming.”

Gilmete, newly-elected founding chairman of USGBC-NCC Diablo East Bay
Branch Steering Committee. “East Bay residents and companies enjoy an
amazing environment and are committed to enhancing it through
sustainable practices.”
USGBC-NCC Diablo East Bay Branch will provide accessible, quality
education and information to area businesses, jurisdictions,
organizations, designers and stakeholders regarding green building,
planning and sustainability trends that impact our communities,
building development and associated industries
USGBC-NCC Diablo East Bay Branch is planning an inaugural gala to be held at Wente Vineyards the evening of September 17th, 2009.
Details about the event including speakers will be available soon. The
gala event will be hosted by Wente Vineyards, a recognized leader in

A dedicated core group of sustainability leaders have been working
since October to form the Branch, which was formally approved by the
USGBC-NCC Board of Directors on June 16th, 2009.
The Branch’s leadership includes:
