This training covers the implementation of a comprehensive sustainability building audit toward LEED EBOM certification. The goal is that participants come away with a clear understanding of the building and energy audit process from the initial assessment through corporate planning, implementation of green building strategies and LEED certification. Geared toward building owners, facilities managers, maintenance contractors, developers and government representatives, the course is in slide presentation format and also contains hands-on activities and case studies to illustrate the ASHRAE Energy Audit Process.

Participants should have strong awareness and understanding of sustainability, green building and LEED.  Participants should also have at least a general understanding of how buildings operate and the primary variables that influence the sustainability performance of an existing building.

This training will be taught by Darren Goody from Green Building Services, Inc.. Green Building Services is a full-service, multi-disciplinary consulting firm whose mission is to support the creation of sustainable communities through the built environment.  Darren Goody is a Senior Technical Consultant and Manager of Commissioning Services and brings 16 years of professional experience as a mechanical engineer. Since 2002, he has worked as a commissioning and Energy Engineer performing building commissioning, retrocommissioning and energy auditing. His commissioning experience involves new construction commissioning, commissioning of energy projects and retrocommissioning for existing buildings targeting energy savings opportunities. He has mastered the use of functional testing, control system data collection and loggers to facilitate commissioning.
