Workshop Description

This workshop is geared towards anyone interested in learning the best way to choose the best green materials.  This is a practical training for designers, specifiers and other professionals to be able to identify, integrate and maintain green materials in projects.

About the Instructors

Elaine Aye
As a principal at Green Building Services, Inc., Elaine brings a unique perspective to green building and sustainability initiatives. She represents, in her work and approach, the successful merger of the best of the interior design and architectural disciplines, materials specifications, and green building. Her multidisciplinary background and diverse project experience, which ranges from residential and commercial development to state of the art convention centers, distinguishes her in the green building industry. Elaine leads teams through the successful greening of their buildings and facilities management practices. Her realistic perspective on the impact and implementation of green building strategies ensures that GBS clients receive the critical information they need to make informed and smart decisions. By focusing on strategies that deliver the greatest value, Elaine consistently positions project teams to exceed their initial green building expectations. Her excellence as a communicator and results-driven focus keep projects teams on schedule, on budget and on target with their green building goals.

Brian Sehnert

A registered Architect and LEED AP, Brian is recognized as an expert in the area of green building and sustainable design and construction and is personally dedicated to making high-performance and renewable-energy systems more prevalent in commercial construction projects. His lectures have helped to educate building owners and industry professionals on environmental and passive design, photovoltaics and other advanced technologies.


Refund and Cancellation Policy

Please email Paul Buckman at least one week prior to the workshop to cancel attendance, transfer to another workshop, or replace a workshop attendee. Please note the following policies:
  • If you cancel at least a week beforehand, you will receive an 80% refund.  If you cancel within 7 days, you will receive a 20% refund.
  • Attendees can request a transfer of their registrations a maximum of one (1) time. All transferred registrations will incur a cancellation fee of $30.
  • A colleague from the same company may replace your reservation for a workshop with one week notice.
  • Should USGBC-NCC have to cancel the workshop, attendees can receive a 100% refund or transfer their registration to another scheduled workshop.
