Silicon Valley is at the heart and leading edge of the green building movement, with a unique combination of greentech smarts, venture capital, and an international community. Silicon Valley Branch (SVB) offers opportunities for networking and learning about the green building movement through educational events and classes that help you stay attuned to this rapidly and continually evolving sector of the economy.
My vision for 2010 is that we partner with our sister organizations in the building design, construction and operations world – such as AIA, ASHRAE, BIG, BOMA, IIDA, IFMA – to share training, information and have FUN!
- Ron Fong, Chair of the Silicon Valley Branch
Monthly program meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at
5:30pm, see schedule below for more details. EGB meetings for young professionals occur frequently, contact
Sean Falvey for more info or to get involved.
To stay better connected with everything branch-related, join our online community group. Once you have registered for the online community, join the "Silicon Valley USGBC" group, under "Affinity Groups."
As always, volunteer opportunities are available! There's no better way to be involved than being a volunteer.
Join Emerging Green Builders of Silicon Valley for a tour of a LEED Silver building, the XL Construction Main Office.
The tour will highlight the sustainable building features used to
achieve LEED Silver certification as well as provide details on the
estimated costs of these items. Come see what it takes to reach LEED
certification.
We will be meeting at 5:45pm. Tour begins at 6:00pm.
